It’s officially spring and I’m so excited to welcome in the fresh energy of April. I love the month of April for many reasons, from the beautiful weather to the creative and abundant energy, it’s always a rejuvenating time of year. I’m feeling inspired, refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the year as I work on some exciting projects behind the scenes as well as continue to work on the build out of the new store. April is officially our last month in the current store before we move into our new space (more information on this coming soon), so I’m feeling a bit bittersweet but just as equally excited and so ready for the upcoming fresh start! During the transition and the usual busyness that life has in store, my self care and beauty rituals have become increasingly more important to me, so I want to share the products I’m currently using on repeat, in hopes of inspiring you as well!
This is Ayuna’s latest, innovative serum to launch. It’s a unique elixir that stimulates the skin in a new way, by utilizing a special micro-channeling technique inspired by microneedling treatments. A freshwater sponge, Spongilla Lacustis, contains tiny spicules that act as gentle exfoliants that stimulate collagen production and promote skin rejuvenation. This method helps to allow other products to more deeply penetrate for enhanced absorption. It does give you a bit of tingly feeling on the skin, so you know it’s working! The benefits are a glowing, crystal clear and bright complexion as it really targets hyperpigmentation. It’s essentially like getting an IPL facial in a bottle. Additionally, it has prebiotic and postbiotic components that also work to combat photoaging. Loaded with unique and sophisticated prebiotic polyphenols, plant chromophores, and antioxidant-rich compounds, this serum is a true miracle worker when you’re looking to get those transformative results.
If you know me, you know I am ALL about full body hydration and am such a fan of body oils - PERIOD. I tend to run on the dry side, so I live for lathering a luxurious body oil on post shower. I find Tata’s Revitalizing Body Oil to be the most moisturizing and calming on the skin. It’s formulated with Tata’s iconic & nourishing estate complex blend and contains calendula, which is super soothing to the skin. I find that this time of the year, when things are blooming, there can be a lot of different irritants floating around in the air so this has been my go-to choice to get that really soft, supple finish. One of my favorite tips is to apply your body oils right after you get out of the shower or bath, while your skin is still wet, for maximum absorption and water retention in the skin. As a total hydration junkie, I follow my oil with a lotion or cream, often the Tata Body Balm or Agent Nateur body (balm).
This is my favorite primer. It’s a gorgeous pore-minimizing, blurring primer that helps your makeup go on like a dream, giving you that beautiful slip to prep the skin for foundation. Multitasking products are definitely the move, especially during the warmer months. Makeup that doubles as skincare and sun protection is the ultimate combo. This illuminating, glowy SPF serum works somewhat like a CC cream to give you a really lightweight coverage that corrects any irregularities, all while giving you a soft-focus glow. Loaded with peptides and antioxidants, it’s working double time to brighten your complexion, leaving it with a lit-from-within glow. You can wear underneath your favorite complexion products or it’s beautiful on its own! I use the shade Light Aura which is a gorgeous champagne color and the lightest shade as it works best for my fair complexion.
This new arrival from ILIA is a total dream. It’s a combination between a foundation and a concealer, so it can be utilized as both, making it so effortless and easy! It’s so nice to just throw in your gym bag or purse for touch ups or reapplication. It’s a beautiful satin finish, not too dewy, not too matte, which I always think looks the most natural. It totally melts right into the skin and it’s extremely blendable. There is such a wide variety of colors so you can even use them as your contour and highlight sticks.
A tried and true favorite of mine from Tata Harper is this outstanding serum that works to transform dull skin through exfoliation. Perfect for the transition into spring bodycare, this serum utilizes an elegant combination of AHAs & BHAs (alpha & beta hydroxy acids) and gently buffs away dead skin cells, penetrates into the skin, and helps to reveal a brighter, fresher canvas. Loaded with protective antioxidants and nurturing botanicals, this serum leaves your skin baby soft & free of imperfections.
