December 2023
The winter season is in full swing and I’m welcoming the combination of relaxation and rest paired with the celebratory, social energy that the Holidays bring. After quite a busy fall and successful month of November, celebrating the Citrine 11th year anniversary, Glam Bag, all the exciting shopping activations as well as moving my family and I into our new home… I am ready to take a minute and slow down for the upcoming month. I’m looking forward to taking time to get grounded, set intentions and prepare for 2024. December feels like such a beautiful time to look inward and reflect on the year. It’s been such an eventful year for us here at Citrine and of course, we have all of you to thank for that. As we close out the year, I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your continued support and wish you and your loved ones a really beautiful holiday season. Now, let’s get right into what I’m loving this month…
This has been one of those holy grail products that I continue to keep coming back to. It's such a great, efficacious eye serum that gives me results. The eye area is where we always tend to show on the signs of aging first so investing in a really high quality eye treatment is one skincare tip that I live by. I’ve been using an eye cream religiously since I was a teenager and using Tata Harper eye products since I was in my late twenties, early thirties. Out of all of the Tata eye products, this one in specific targets more intensive wrinkles and lines around the eyes, so it’s perfect for those of you 40 and above or if you’re in your 30s and wanting to take your preventative skin care to the next level. It helps to restore elasticity, filling in those fine lines, plumping and stimulating fluid to give you a really contoured, tight look around the eye. I love to use this all the way around the eyes, doing a full 360, getting into the orbital bone and I'll even use it in the middle of my eyebrows, in the “elevens” area as well.
Dirty Amber is Heretic’s latest fragrance that I can’t get enough of. I love it because you get this really sweet yet smoky scent which I just think is so pretty, especially this time of year. I love to layer it with Dirty Vanilla or even Dirty Coconut and it just totally changes the smell, which is really cool. I've even done it with Florgasm too. If you know someone who likes unique, rich, sensual fragrances, this makes a beautiful and special gift as well. The fact that the Heretic fragrances are so perfect for layering makes them the perfect gifts, since fragrance is so personal, you get to offer them a little addition to elevate their current scent situation.
Another one of my go-to Tata Harper products over the past few years is the Boosted Contour Serum. I love to use this as a face, neck and decollete serum. Being in my 40s, the neck and decolletage area is something I’m wanting to pay more attention to when it comes to really targeted skincare treatments. Tata Harper describes this serum as “spanks for your face” and I am here for it! I love to apply this after I’ve done by Theraface routine and it’s so satisfying to feel this really instantaneous, tight effect.
As you all know, I am just as particular with what I use in my home as I am with what I put on and in my body. During these warm, cozy winter months, of course we all want to have candles to set the mood, which is why I love the Heretic candles. Not only are they completely nontoxic, but they smell AMAZING too. Dirty Gingerbread smells exactly like what you would imagine… sweet, warm and a touch spicy, but what I love about it is that it’s not overwhelming at all. It’s the perfect amount of fragrance to enhance and elevate your space, adding this really beautiful ambiance for the holidays.
As many of you may know, I have been absolutely loving the Roen products and their shadows in particular. They have these really gorgeous, ultra-pigmented shimmer shades that just give such a glossy, shimmery pop to the eye. They have these single shadow-meets-highlighters that we’ve talked about a bit, the more common one being the Disco, which is a more silver toned highlight. I personally love the idea of using a gold shadow, not only because it suits my skin tone and brings out my blue eyes, but also to embody the celebratory energy of the holiday season. It’s rich, flashy, sparkly and makes me feel abundant! These make the perfect laying pierces for any eyeshadow look, whether you’re looking for something more minimal and you want to wear it alone, or you want to add it as a topper for some added twinkle! What girl doesn’t love that around the holidays!
